Mitch Thompson, Ministry Director

Mitch joined Orchard Church in 2022 and serves as the Full Armor  Safety Ministry Director. He brings a wealth of experience from his eight years of active duty in the U.S. Navy, where he honed his leadership skills and passion for service. Mitch also pursued studies in criminal justice and attended a part-time police academy, feeling a strong call toward a career in law enforcement. In 2009, Mitch was in the final stages of the hiring process with a local law enforcement agency when a state budget crisis led to a hiring freeze. Undeterred, he pivoted to the IT field and built a successful 15+ year career, becoming a corporate executive.

Mitch’s journey of faith deepened after marrying his wife, Regina, in 2012. Later that year, he rededicated his life to Jesus, embracing a new chapter of spiritual growth and purpose. Although his career path changed, Mitch’s passion for serving and protecting others never wavered. Today, he applies his experience and dedication to leading Orchard Church’s safety ministry. With a heart for service, he is committed to creating a safe and secure environment where the church community can worship, grow, and thrive in faith.

Through continual improvements to our safety protocols, training, and opportunities for biblical growth via fellowship and discipleship, we empower our volunteers and provide the church community with peace of mind. This allows staff, members, and visitors to focus on worship, prayer, and spiritual growth, trusting in God’s protection and guidance.
